Cubao and Marikina churches of Christ Update:
Good Samaritan ministry continues to help other people in Balubad resettlement area and bring more souls closer to God. Two more souls were added to the Lord’s church because of this ministry.
This is the house of sis. Jennica Payupay before and her sister Maricris (in picture). Maricris eventually obeyed the Lord Jesus in baptism after attending series of Bible studies conducted by brother Danni. The GS ministry encouraged the Church to have extra collection in order to provide plywood for their house. Their parents were glad and feel the concern and loved of the Church of Christ upon receiving the Church help and are now attending Bible study at Balubad.

In tutorial center the children receives their first owned ABAKADA (the ABC’s) book. They will bring it to their home in order to practice their skills in reading. Forty percent of kid’s parents obeyed the Bible in baptism and faithfully attending the assembly.

Evelyn Luzaran is constantly hearing the Word of God taught by brother Danni every Saturday afternoon decided to be immersed for the forgiveness of her sins. Maricris Payupay gladly receives the Word of God in her heart and decided to wash away her sins in baptism. Jerrylyn Lazada was very happy because she is now a servant of Christ Jesus after her baptism. Prince Albert de Torres prior to his baptism is active attending worship service in house church in Pasig. He studied the way of salvation thru brother Danni’s tagalog Bible correspondence lesson. He knows the importance of not forsaking the Assembly of God before he was immersed by brother Joel Montano. Kriza "Sa Sa" Barcelona is the house helper of brother Maurice Camacho. Brother Maurice and all his household is Christian so they bring Sa Sa every Sunday to attend worship. She loves to hear brother Danni’s preaching the Word of God. She also studied the Tagalog Bible correspondence lesson.
The brethren are praying hard that our Lord God will add more souls to His kingdom.

Church planting mission…

In Balubad resettlement area we started the Bible study last October 6 and as of present adults and kids continue to add in our Bible study. Like the early Christian in the first century, the adult Bible study was conducted by brother Danni under the jackfruit tree. Someday this tree will be cut off for city government renovation of resettlement area. The brethren are praying that they will be able to find a place for this growing Bible students, eventually another congregation will be born in this area. Fellowship merienda was provided by the brethren after the lesson.
The growing population of children is one of the main problems in this resettlement area and children were not taught how to read and write before going to primary school. Starting a tutorial center in this area will be a great idea in order to encourage their parents to study the Bible. The Bible study for kids was conducted by brother Mike every Friday inside the small house of sis. Ging.
In Cogeo, we continue to seek and save the lost by conducting personal interview evangelism and by distributing flyers and leaflets. It was good to invite some of the Manila School of Evangelism (MSE) students to be with us in this mission. One of the students contacted by brother Danni thru text messaging (SMS) is now studying the Bible others are enrolled in correspondence lesson.
Evangelism campaign…
The monthly door knocking campaign held by Churches of Christ around Metro Manila was held at Caloocan City. The brethren in this city hosted this month campaign. The Cubao and Marikina are actively participating in this joint effort of the brethren around Metro Manila. Other churches active in this campaign are Caloocan, Makati, Pasay, Las Pinas, Taguig, Payatas, Lagro, and Pasig-Centennial congregations. This campaign was done in order to win more souls in different areas of Metro Manila. The leaders also conducted monthly meeting after the door knocking events to discuss plans, activities and projects of Churches of Christ.

Overnight Prayer Meeting at Cubao…
Family bonding is so important for the Church in order to maintain the unity and love to one another. An overnight prayer meeting was held in Cubao church from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. last October 19. The fellowship was great as they devote themselves in the teachings of Jesus and give thanks to God in prayer. Brother Danni and Joel conduct devotional study and lead the group discussion.

Prayer Night at Marikina….

In order to make the new brethren strong in the faith the church in Marikina also held their prayer night. They invited more parents of the kids and some friends of the youth to join the fellowship and it was an opportunity for brother Danni to introduce the Word of God to them during devotional. It was also time to develop the talents of the youth and bring them closer to one another. The youth agreed to have fellowship on the first Saturday of November. The kids also joined the night of fellowship, sister Ruby and brother Mike with the help of other youth take in-charge in handling the kids.

The school will open the second semester on November 5 and I'm still teaching few subjects there. God bless you brethren.

The bible studies in different places here in Batangas are still ongoing. Year 2008 we also have plans of church planting in Batangas City ( Pinagkilatan, Batangas).

Update from davao of the month October 2007:

Last Septermber 28, 2007 the Davao Integreted Development Program in cooperation with GAD fathers, IDGG , Transformative Justice Institute and BSP Davao City council, gave me an opportunity to attend and actively participate in the discussion and launching of MOVE-davao. It is profitable for me know as a young preacher to be knowledgeable to the civil laws concerning of human rights and contributing immensely in expanding the base and horizon for the people to understand and inculcate in their minds of opposing any form of violence.

By this kind of involvement, it leads me to know how to deal with the different kind of people that have experienced of any forms of violence. Yet one of the national agency here in the Philippines called Bantay Bata 163 (Watch the Children 163) that mainly help the abuse cases ages range to 0-12 years old. We continue to do the ministry here that was started by my sister Rose Shady with the help also of the Sellers family since she worked there as social worker. We went there twice a month to teach Bible stories with the children as well as to all the staff of the children’s home. Good news, also, that the children and staff still attend worship service in Matina congregation.

Davao City jail ministry: we also have ministry here every Friday. As matter of fact there are soul heartily willing to receive Christ through baptism at this month. Sadly, the jail management does not allow it any longer because of their past experience. We ask your prayers about this, and we will still work to make it happen.

For the whole Sundays of the month of October 2007, the young people of Davao City were contributing to help the congregation of Puan. Puan congregation is still new and has few members. Mario Alivio is their preacher. Our goal is to strenghten the congregation and to have a number of Bible studies. The young people of Davao City are not only focusing in their particular congregation but to help our neighbor congregation.

On the first Sunday we're conducting a door to door and giving tracks, and 2nd Sunday we're conducting a free blood pressure test, because most of the young peaple are taken up a nursing course and this is the time to share their knowledge in the ministry. The 3rd Sunday we're conducting a religious survey. This is another strategy to have a number of bible studies, it was done well. In the 4th Sunday to make an follow up for the said survey.

May God bless all of these effort and continue to include the work here in Davao City.
In God’s Service;

Ronnel Allonar

Muntinlupa Church of Christ Update:

Thank you for your patience and understanding, this month of october we are busy conducting home Bible studies, planning for the church for this coming year, and encouraging bro Archimedes and Danny to lead in the Bible studies, now they are assigned for November and Decemberadult Bible studies . I hope and pray that they will be strong leaders of the church.

Marife was confined for 4 days at Philippine General Hospital and had vein surgery on both legs. We spent about 50 thousand pesos which was just borrowed and the thing is we didn't have health care which is normal if you are common preacher in the Philippines.

The church's average collection now is 4 thousand pesos a week, and is used to pay for the building rental. Ever since we started this small congregation in Muntinlupa the congregation has not supported me financially because her collection is just enough for room rental which is so high being in the city, I have to work in the church with no support from her and earn our living. Now I have 3 children in college which makes it more difficult for me because our expenses for the children's education is quite big. Sometimes it made me think if its better if I should have remained working at my secular job and perhaps somebody would still be used by the lord to start a congregation here in Muntilupa. But I am still holding on the fact that "there is always a purpose for everything that happened" and "everything works together for good to them that love God".

Thanks again for your patience.

In His service,
Greg

Wichita, Kansas Update:

It is so amazing how the Lord created the world. He painted the colors of the trees in different colors. Autumn is so magnificent that we enjoy looking at the different shades of colors as we strill around the city.

We started another Bible study in the month of October. There are around 6-10 people that attend to the study headed by Mr. Charles Bishop, a minister at West Douglas church of Christ. We are studying about the book of John on how Christ manisfested His love to all mankind. Please pray for this effort as we continue to spread the gospel to those who are interested to listen.

World Missions Workshop in Oklahoma:

Andrea McMinn, Philip and I went to the World Missions Workshop which was held on October 25-27. We attended some classes and set up our booth for the Metro Manila Ministries. We sold some Philippine products for our fundraising. It is so nice to learn more about the missions all over the world and how we can reach out to people in need of Christ. We advertised the Philippine ministry and met a lot of people of the same desire to serve the Lord. It was a fun, exciting weekend for all of us.
